![]() While they do have a large selection of sp. that aren't often found at reasonable prices, the aloof attitude of the people that work there coupled with every time I have been in there I have seen disease in at least half the tanks makes going here not high on my priority list. ![]() I was recommended by Petsmart to visit these guys because I wanted to get started in the hobby. I went to Aquarium Paradise with plenty of questions about setting up a saltwater tank. They were very helpful with everything I threw at them. I now have my tank set up with my fish in and I love it. They are very helpful with all of my newbie questions over the phone as well. Stop by and take a look at their show tank setup. It is a beatiful tank and says a lot about their knowledge in the business. Jon Woolley 23:58:23 8/04/2007 |
![]() Certainly not a "child friendly" store. My kids are well behaved and they were on them like fly paper. I had planned to spend several hundred dollars on a tank setup, but left in anger. One of the employees actually followed us out to our car yelling at us. R Larson 21:53:11 6/02/2007 |
This store only does aquaira. A rare find these days. It has a gorgeous reef display that is worth seeing. They have a nice, although, not extensive selection of fresh water and marine fish that are well cared for. They have a neat Betta display that supplies a constant trickle of water to the fish. But, alas, I did see 3 dead Bettas on one visit, and when I told a staff person, he didn't seem particularly concerned. In most stores, Bettas seem to be, sadly, a disposable fish. The staff seemed willing to answer questions if we asked, but weren't overly attentive to us on either visit. It could be because both of our visits have been in the evening. They have a small selection of equipment and supplies. I believe they focus on their custom made aquariums. |
If you live in Tacoma, you have very few options for a quality fish store. Aquarium Paradise is about as good as it gets. The store is family owned and run, the father works right along side his sons, and they are all very knowledgeable about this fish and products they have in stock. Aside from just being knowledgeable, they are friendly and perfectly willing to help with any questions about aquaria you may have. Their prices are reasonable, and their stock is quality. They will also buy fish from you for a reasonable store credit. If you live in Tacoma, or Lakewood, I would highly suggest you pay Aquarium Paradise a visit. Jared 22:50:31 8/07/2004 |
