We love this place because it is family owned. They have a great SW selection. They may not immediately greet you all the time, but if you ask a question they stay with you until all your questions are answered and go out of their way to help you. Everything we have bought has been great in our tank and we are new to the hobby. They also sell water for those who don't have their own water filter systems. We continue to drive 45minutes to this store and will continue to do so and HIGHLY recommend you give them a try as well!

well Aquarium Paradise is where i started my hobby with fish. The family there are friendly and have helped me through the proces of keeping my fish healthy even over the phone many times. I like the selection there they got alittle of every thing and that means alot to the fish hobbest like me. Most of my rare fish came from there store

While they do have a large selection of sp. that aren't often found at reasonable prices, the aloof attitude of the people that work there coupled with every time I have been in there I have seen disease in at least half the tanks makes going here not high on my priority list.

I was recommended by Petsmart to visit these guys because I wanted to get started in the hobby. I went to Aquarium Paradise with plenty of questions about setting up a saltwater tank. They were very helpful with everything I threw at them. I now have my tank set up with my fish in and I love it. They are very helpful with all of my newbie questions over the phone as well. Stop by and take a look at their show tank setup. It is a beatiful tank and says a lot about their knowledge in the business.

Certainly not a "child friendly" store. My kids are well behaved and they were on them like fly paper. I had planned to spend several hundred dollars on a tank setup, but left in anger. One of the employees actually followed us out to our car yelling at us.

This store only does aquaira. A rare find these days. It has a gorgeous reef display that is worth seeing. They have a nice, although, not extensive selection of fresh water and marine fish that are well cared for.

They have a neat Betta display that supplies a constant trickle of water to the fish. But, alas, I did see 3 dead Bettas on one visit, and when I told a staff person, he didn't seem particularly concerned. In most stores, Bettas seem to be, sadly, a disposable fish.

The staff seemed willing to answer questions if we asked, but weren't overly attentive to us on either visit. It could be because both of our visits have been in the evening.

They have a small selection of equipment and supplies. I believe they focus on their custom made aquariums.

If you live in Tacoma, you have very few options for a quality fish store. Aquarium Paradise is about as good as it gets. The store is family owned and run, the father works right along side his sons, and they are all very knowledgeable about this fish and products they have in stock. Aside from just being knowledgeable, they are friendly and perfectly willing to help with any questions about aquaria you may have. Their prices are reasonable, and their stock is quality. They will also buy fish from you for a reasonable store credit. If you live in Tacoma, or Lakewood, I would highly suggest you pay Aquarium Paradise a visit.
