Soutas Saltwater & Reef

The guy below me has to be a competitor.

I have been in this store and MY GOD it has to be the most beautiful thing ever. My tank doesn't even come close to theirs!

They sell great fish and a never ending amount of different coral species.

As far as their prices, I'd have to say that coral is on the expensive side overall anywhere you go, but you certainly get what you pay for in size!

The owner and his son are very nice to me whenever I come in, and are very helpful.

Hope this helps you make up your mind.

Acually the store is fine It's the owner who bothers me and many local experianced reef keepers I know. They have an excellent store and know what they are doing. But I have personal experiance with the owner and they are not totally up front in explaining what's needed to do the job right the first time. Hence they cost me time and money, but the main offense was the loss of life to stock because they were less than honest with there info. Sad way to get money from the costomer. I have been in there shop when it was behind the owners house in a garage to now in the new building. If your aware of what you need they have great stuff. ($$$) But if your new I would shop else where till your well informed.

I give it a 4 1/2 because they have some of the most beautiful marine fish I have seen and their reef is immaculant! Only drawback is the size of the store is way too small for all of the equipment that one would need for a reef tank, so when there are a few customers inside, it seems overcrowded. Nice staff, beautiful tanks! A trip definitely worth taking if you are interested in beginning a reef tank.

I miss this place. I no longer live in Oregon and so I cannot go here anymore. If you are starting or thinking about starting a reef tank and are anywhere near Portland, it is worth your time to stop by this place. I would frequently drive from Corvallis to visit this store. The owner is quite knowledgeable (an understatement) and very helpful. Visit before setting up your tank and he will save you some money by helping you work through the various decisions and choices that are required for a quality set-up. This place is a quality operation. It is a little difficult to find being in an industrial area and in non-descript buidling with no windows and a small sign. It is well worth your effort to find this guy. Call and confirm store hours as they can vary from what is posted on the website.
