 First glance was typical of a independant pet store- fish tanks against the wall, animals in an enclosed room, basic supplies. Closer examination finds fish with fungus, ick, and popeye. Tanks are on a sump so most tanks were infected. One large tiger oscar with popeye, approx. 7 in. in a 15 gal. tank. Two 4 in. turtles also in a 15 gal. with no room to swim. Turtle landing takes up half the tank. In the enclosed animal room the animal cages were unsanitary, I could smell the ammonia standing outside the room, although they didn't have many animals. 12-15 bettas on a counter, although three were dead. Clerk was standing at the counter at the time I asked for bettas and the walked away as I approached. (I do not smell!) No one greeted me and until I approached the bettas had no contact with any workers. As I was leaving someone (I couldn't tell who) yelled, "You want fish?!" - No, thanks. faraday 11:16:52 2/13/2006 |
