![]() Love this store. My hubby and I have been buying all our salt water fish, crabs and snails for years now. If Sean is going to be the new owner, then it's all good, he really knows what he's talking about. For those who think Bill (the current owner) is an A**** are so wrong. He just doesn't suffer fools gladly...Fool! The rest of the staff are rockstars also. Pippa MacDougall 17:13:34 8/21/2011 |
![]() Staff has always been extremely helpful when we call or come in with questions. Karina 09:50:47 5/03/2011 |
![]() I visited the Fish Nook yesterday after hearing they were pretty decent with Salt water and reefs. I met Sean who said he is buying the place from the old owner (who was also there). Sean spent over an hour with me talking reefs and how they have started (within the last few years) getting more heavily into reef tanks. I was very impressed with the level of detail and expertise. I was more impressed when they wouldn't sell me a fish because it hadn't been in required quarantine long enough. There was another fish I wanted (flame angel) that had only been there 1 week. They said they won't sell him until at least 1 month since they have been know to frequently live fine for 1 month then die suddenly. That says they care...they won't sell something unless they know it's healthy. My wife chatted with the owner and he was actually extremely pleasant. After reading some reviews here...we were afraid he was going to be a jerk (we both laughed at the "so long PR**K" comment many times on the way over). We were pleasantly surprised and will shop there again. Jason Gerrish 07:38:03 3/12/2011 |

![]() I love this store! Very quaint... I love local businesses like the Fish Nook. Some of the customers who have said poorly about Fish Nook.... I do not understand why they would have anything negative to say. My family has bought 3 fish, 2 gerbils, a hamster, a rat, and possibly a bird from that store over the course of 8 years and had nothing but good experiences. We also gave my hamster's offspring to the store. Go Fish Nook! Natalie 16:20:55 10/20/2010 |
![]() My recent visit to the Fish Nook was very pleasant. I found the person helping me to be very knowledgeable and helpful. He went out of his way to point out appropriate fish for my tropical tank. The fish I have purchased there have all been extremely healthy. I like the fact that they quarantine their fish prior to sale. The pricing on the tropical fish I purchased (Sword Koi) was competitive with an online fish vendor I have ordered from. The ability to look at what you’re buying is well worth the trip. David 08:15:50 9/05/2010 |
![]() I have nothing but good things to say about the Fish Nook. Expert and patient help, willing to spend the extra time to advise on nursing a fish back to health. I will go back, again & again. Michael Watkins 11:13:45 2/24/2010 |
![]() I have two younger children that have had various size tanks over the years. I can't tell you how much time the staff and Bill, the owner, have spent explaining the types of fish, their needs, compatibility, care and maintenance to them. Unbelievably patient and kind. Many time my kids will just go in to just look at the animals. This store is great, and staff is exceptional!Wouldn't think of shopping elsewhere for our fish needs. Kathy E 11:18:08 1/18/2010 |
Good store but one major problem... the owner is a complete jerk! I've been going to the fishnook for 10 years and in 10 minutes he convinced me to never return. So long, PRICK! Anon 10:12:29 1/07/2010 |
![]() I've been keeping fish for more than 40 years and I must say that the Fissh nook is the best store I been to. The staff is knowledgeable and the stock is healthy. They are the only store I know of which quarentines all there fish for atleast a week before they sell them. They will special order anything you want but only stockl fish that can reasonably be kept in the home aquarium. Jim 07:28:29 7/13/2009 |
i got two fish here. one fo them lived for more than a year...the other one i still have and is very healthy. kate 13:15:47 4/16/2009 |
![]() i think the pet store is great!!!!!! i got my first rabbit there....and shes still with me, very healthy. and very cute. i have gotten all my pets there before and they have all lasted a long time. i plan to get another oet from there. the people are very kind to me and my family and are very helpful. kate 13:12:32 4/16/2009 |
![]() the people here smell bad first off they won't let me touch the pets (bonding?) and the fish tanks were DIRTY. josephina 11:28:32 2/08/2009 |
![]() I have been to the fish nook several times to buy saltwater fish stuff. At other stores, I have always had to worry about hitchhikers and other pains, but the fish nook seems to be dedicated to quality, as I have never been disappointed with a purchase. Although their prices seem pretty high, in the long run you won't have any problems, which will save you money in the end. Torey 09:21:50 7/05/2008 |
![]() Everyone there it genuinely interested in helping you maintain healthy critters. I no longer have fish but they have been extremely helpful when it comes to my bearded dragon. They won't sell to anyone they feel cannot handle the responsibility and their specimens which they raise from babies, are extremely robust. The people that work there love animals and will refer you to the proper professionals if they can't give you the answer. No BS. William Charlton 08:05:35 5/28/2008 |
![]() I was extremely dissapointed at my trip to this store. It is in no way a fish store, it is merely a pet store. The saltwater tanks all lokked unhealthy and had a very poor variety. I was shocked at the price of very poor specimens. I will not return to this store, and suggest that no other saltwater customer does either. Jarrod 17:35:12 8/21/2006 |
![]() I've been going to this store for the entirety of my fish keeping career, and recently have tried to branch out but no other store can compete in my opinion. Other posts say the staff can be rude, and that may be with some of the younger workers. The older employees though are dedicated and their only concern is quality fish, for instance on several occasions they've suggested stores where I might find more suitable or better looking fish. They're always getting in new and interesting species, and since they get a lot of their stock from Tropic Isle the quality is amazing. They will absolutely not sell a sick fish; they will immediately quarantine an entire tank if any sign of illness appears, and sometimes it can be weeks until they are willing to put the fish up for sale. They've also very recently expanded their selection of freshwater plants, and I've been extremely happy with the quality thus far. They're the only store I trust with the responsibility of supplying my fish! anonymous 15:30:05 2/27/2006 |
Very expensive, and some of the staff are AWFUL. I went in and asked for a snail that I could put in with some koi-- that could handle cold temps. The salesperson said "oh no problem, here's one." The snail died instantly; I later looked it up and it was tropical. Gee thanks Fish Nook!!

The fish are usually very healthy. Decent selection, but not nearly as large as a store like Tropic Isle. One problem I have with this store is the staff; I have had issues with them in the past. Anonymous 14:21:23 9/05/2004 |
