This store is an amazing fish store. it has a ton of cool salt water fish and some killer tanks. The people are really great and they make sure to give you the best advice possible. A good store to check out.

 One major problem. No one here seems to know anything. Many times I've asked questions they don't know the answer to with a few exceptions of knowlegdable people who work there, once they sold me a product for a freshwater tank when I have saltwater tank. I Agree with the post below me. This store was amazing until they brought in that tall guy with glasses. He agrued with me about LED light fixtures not having a red spectrum and not being good for corals. WTF I have the LEDs on my tank and they do have a really good red spectrum and have amazing lighting for my coral. My corals have never looked better and here this idiot is saying he would "NOT Recommend" them. ((STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY HE DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING.)) **Most definately only get help from the tall kid with red hair and the middle aged guy with redish hair also. They do know what they are talking about and are extremely knowledable.** |
 I have been a loyal customer for a couple of years now. I went to the aviarium today to look at what new fish and what not. When I asked this tall curly hair guy questions about my tank he started arguing with me saying that I was mistaken because what I wad saying couldn't possibly happen. This guy hasn't seen my tank so how in the hell can he say what is not happening. I had questions that needed to be answered and I was treated like an idot. As a customer this is NOT how I want to be treated. If anyone goes to this store in the future stick with Nick Mack or Bill. This store is the absolute best when it comes to their selection of salt water fish and coral. They carry ORA coral and SPS. I always have trouble finding good looking fish and coral. The staff seems very good too because they ask if you need help and if you dont they leave you alone until you do. They are definitally a great fish store and anyone whos a fish person should go!! WONDERFUL service. The staff is exceptionally helpful and very informed on their fish and birds. They have given me wonderful adivce with my bird and my fish tank. What Karma posted on 10/26/10 is the absolute opposite of what the Aviarium is all about. They respect their customers and are very happy to answer any questions they may have. And what he said about the Owner is completely and uttlerly disrespectful and untrue. He's the main reason I love to shop there. The Aviarium's prices are very reasonable with both birds and fish. All of their birds are cheaper than petco and petsmart. And they are very well taken care of and the bird room is always clean unlike many other pet stores I have visited. Their FiSH seem very reasonable along with their coral. Their corals and fish always do great in my tank and if for any reason things seem to not be going well in my tank Nick ( the tall red head ) is always willing to help and if hes busy Bill and Mac are also very helpful with helping me to get things figured out. They have almost all the answers to any aquarists' questions. I RECOMMEND GOING IT'S WORTH IT! |
I have been shopping at the Aviarium for over 4 yrs. I started with my 55 gallon freshwater tank then. They had fish I had not seen before and were happy to explain which fish went together. I became fascinated with saltwater fish and now have 7 sw tanks. I have bought some of my prized fish & coral from Bill(yellow scroll, pectina, fox coral, pink gonapora w/yellow centers, purple tang, hippo tang, french angel, multi colored angel, yellow coris wrasse, green coris wrasse). Bill, Katie and Mac have alway been happy to answer questions and steered me away from bad buys.  DO NOT GO to the Aviarium!!! I have been going to the Aviarium for 3 years and today was definitely my last visit to that hideous store with all of their arrogant employees. Today the owner was in and I thought he would be smart enough to realize that being smart ass, like all of the other employees, might be bad for business. He spoke to me like I had no sense and belittled me when I asked him a ligament question. The only reason I have continued to go there this long is because the store is only 6 miles from my home. Every time I’ve gone in there, I have been treated like a dumb ass. When I first started my reef tank, I, like many others relied on the people at the Aviarium to inform me on the right components to purchase to make this expensive investment successful and to have a reef tank that thrives. The bottom line is that these are some of the most arrogant people I've ever done business with. I suggest going to "The Aquarium Store" on Satellite Blvd or Nemo’s Fish in Norcross. The owner at The Aquarium stores owner has been honest with me every time. Don respects his customers and more importantly he has a passion for salt water creatures and wants his customers to succeed with their reef tanks. It is not a part time hobby and he will help you through a lot of the nonsense out there on the web. I could go on and on with examples of the disrespect I’ve gotten from that Aviarium group, but I have wasted enough time on them. Good Riddance. |
 I bought my first canary there. A very nice woman spent a good 45 min. with me walking through the different things I would need. Not pushy, very helpful! I love my new bird and I look forward to more birds from there in the future.

I love Aviarium. On average all fish retailers will receive a sick or diseased at the rate of 15% so if you judge by this alone then NO retailer will ever make the grade. Avarium has a tremendous selection of rare fish. They often stock Cortez stingrays for around $80 and even some various sharks and banded cat shark eggs for about $40-$50. They have no return on fish, but who does other than online retailers. They are helpful and nice but not too pushy or clingy they give you your space to look around and then you can simply let them know if your ready to make a purchase or need help. I have received lots of help over the phone as well and no one was rude in my experience but every business has one or two "not so great" employees so just keep that in mind with anything and you will not be disappointed. My wife and I have been dealing with this store for over 20 years. This is the only fish store I will deal with for my reef tank. My wife gets all of the supplies for our bird here as well. I loved this store! You know when you go to petco or petsmart they usually have like 5 fish dead or sick?! They had absolutley none!! I have been looking for a dwarf puffer for a while and they had it! Not only did they have it, they were beautiful.

 They have hard-to-find items on hand and can order what you need within a few days. Nice selection of salt water fish. Bird room is isolated from main store. Helpful and knowledgeable.
