The Fish Bowl

As far as local stores go. For me this is by far the best choice. I have bought supplies at reasonable prices. They are a little higher then the petsmart up the street but I'd rather support our home grown shops then the chains.

I also bought 6 neon rosy barbs there. All 6 are still alive and well 3 weeks later. Because they have a no return policy for the death of fish you buy, you just have to select them carefully is all.

Other then that the staff seem to be friendly and none extrusive. They let me look around the shop by myself without questioning me. But when I had a question they were informative and friendly. Also they keep the place clean.

This place is great. Some of the ratings made me leary but I gave them a shot anyway. Friendly and knowledgeable service in a clean environment. I was there on Jan. 2 and bought a couple nice mbuna. I inquired about a few other species and they said they would order me anything I wanted. I left a 1/2 star off because the cichlid food selection was limited.

The fish bowl sucks!! Its a dirty dirty place! The fish are sickly. This week I bought a salt water fish from them a Wrass and paid $25.00 for one fish and I realize that salt water fish are more expencive than fresh water fish. I the next morning I got up and the fish was DEAD. They would not replace the fish. pet smart has a 15 day live guarentee and I buy from saltwaterfish.com and they even have a 14 day live guarentee! But for the fish bowl to not guarentee their fish even for 5 days is unacceptable. So is all their fish sick I will never buy anything there again and would urge everyone no boycot the fish bowl. saltwaterfish.com has a huge selection and nextday delivery.

The original owners are back and are revitalizing what once was a great place to shop for all of your salt and freshwater fish needs!

Stop in a check them out and I'm sure you will see a difference in selection, staff and cleanliness of the store.

You won't be disappointed!

The tanks are usually dirty lookingand a good portion of the fish look sick, but their prices are okay and often they have fish I can't get at petsmart.

It's alright, but considering petsmart has a better selection, and the fact that I'd rather drive up to Wilmington for fish, I'm giving it a three. They do occasionally get some nice oddballs.

I have to rate this four fish because it is the only fish store around.
