Les Martins Puppy Center

Great selection of freshwater fish, most for reasonable prices, plus the occasional oddballs you can't find anywhere else. Saltwater a little pricey, but not a bad selection. Staff is curteous and fairly knowledgable. The fish section is set up almost like a museum. Stock overall healthier than most other stores, especially the chains and superstores. Good selection of drygoods, but pricing is spotty some good deals, some bad - know your product before you buy, and you'll do fine. The puppies are good to entertain the kids, and the birds are typical - loud and smelly - LOL! But actually not as bad as some stores. The staff takes good care of the livestock overall. A nice store with old fashioned charm. Just don't be in a hurry if you're going to drive in Elmwood - LOL!

The good:
-huge selection

The bad:
-huge selection means crowded tanks
-always visible ich
-tons of deads, but i cant blame them with all those fish they have
-before they remodeled the back section seemed to be neglected
-not very pleasing to look at, but thats the cost of having such a selection

its really a toss up, its nice to look around. but it would be nice if they put a little more effort into their fish. plus selling puppies this day in age seems a little outdated. with that said...this place SMELLS!

This place will blow your mind with the freshwater fish selection they have! Service is excellent. Don't let the name deceive you. This is the best tropical fish store I've ever been in hands down!
