This store freakin sucks!.....All the fish there are sick with disease and overprised. There is no customer service what so ever, and when they try to attempt addresssing your needs they come off as crooked jerks.... Completely horrible store....point blank, no exceptions!

These guys are EFFIN CROOKS! I was looking for titanium heaters. They had a Via Aqua 100w (list price $49.95). I called to ask how much they sell it for, and they said $59.00! THEN I went to the store to see the heater and asked again how much the heater was... THEY SAID IT WAS $79!

I HATE TREASURE CHEST AQUARIUM! 13:30:05 9/09/2007

I'm a freshwater newbie in the process of cycling my tank. I've visited several of the fish stores in the area recently, and I've got to say that this one was the worst. The tanks are pretty dirty, and a lot of the fishes looked sick and unhealthy. I saw several dead fishes in the tanks.

I was scared to look at the area where they have the other types of animals (rabbits, etc). (Scared of what condition they'd be in.)

The guy at the front desk was sarcastic with me (I was looking at the driftwood and asked him what kind of wood it was. Without looking at me he answered "Driftwood.")

I have been a long time shopper at the Alum Rock store, but just visited the new location on Lincoln Ave and this location is great! The service was great and the store was really clean, they also have a 1000 gallon shark tank. Small, but nicely organized.

i have been there two times it is an ok store the 1000 gal fish tank is cool but it should have live sand and live rock it looks so bare. Not really that much selection for fresh water or salt. They do get some good fish in and their prices are very reasonable. Somewhat helpful staff this last visit wednsday I was actually asked by 2 different friendly people if i needed help compared to the first time I went there last summer the 2 guys working were total jerks. I dont really like fish stores that sell small animals and reptiles along with the fish it shows their not serious about fish.

I agree with the previous poor reviews. I feel sorry for any livestock they sell. Avoid this store--there are far better ones around.

The tanks were terribly over crowded and disgusting. Only one of the guys there was helpful... the rest have all been complete jerks. None of them seem to have any knowledge about the fish they sell. My own mother bought a goldfish there that had some sort of moving parasite living on it! The back of the store is just as bad as front... I'm pretty sure the birds back there haven't seen the light of day in their entire lives.

Bottom line- the store is dirty/disgusting/sad

I have been dealing with Treasure Chest Aquarium for about 6 years now and they have nothing but excellent service and fish. They carry a large variety of fish, reptiles and birds.

This store is cleaner than most fish stores that I have visited.

The first thing you'll notice when you walk into the store is the thousand gallon tank with a four-foot shark (a juvenile white tip reef shark, I believe) crusing around. Some may think this is cool. I think it's savagely cruel. The shark looks deformed and severely distressed, and who can blame it. A fish that should be roaming the open seas is stuck in an acrylic box in Alum Rock.

After seeing that horror, we got to the "regular" fish. Tanks were overcrowded and appeared laden with disease. Bags of fish literally littered the floor.

Customer service? None to speak of, though I really didn't stick around long enough to find out.
