Unfortunately not all Petco stores are the same, when it comes to fish health. I live so close that I walk to this store. But everytime I think about buying a fish from them, I take a look and either some are dead, about to die, or just really sick looking.
I have to drive out to Colma or Tanforan to go to Petco's there.
