I've been going to Exotic now ever since it has opened. Great staff and wide selection. Good prices on hard goods and corals are fairly priced.

this place is big with a good selection but the prices are way over priced...i guess thats due to the fact of their overhead cost... 11.99 average for a $7.00 cichlid...i rather go to the bay...they have lots of dry goods for low prices, but when i purchased my cichlid pelets and brought it home...they were old and stale..long shelf life i guess...

I was very impressed on the scale of this aquarium store. The most largest selection by far I've seen. The store is so big, I had a moment where I actually lost myself in the store. Great staff and fantastic prices.

I don't cover SW, so your mileage there may vary. As far as the freshwater is concerned:

The selection is fairly nice, they get some oddballs in. They have decent prices on dry goods, and a fairly good selection of them. That's the good news.

The bad news? I see LOTS of disease in their tanks, and since they use common sumps for every section of tanks, whatever little creepy crawlies you see in one tank are in the tanks around it. They have lots of oscars with HITH disease, which is sad and means they are only feeding them feeder fish. Their staff is poorly informed (judging by the few overheard conversations I have witnessed), but generally seem helpful.

I swing by every couple of weeks to see what they have, or what they have mislabeled so I can get a good deal. Always quarantine any fish you get from there, and observe it carefully for any sign of parasite or infection before buying.

Bottom line: One of the better stores in Sacramento, but be careful when buying that you don't get a sick fish.

The new store is huge, but the selection is nothing too exciting - mostly bread and butter.

There's great potential, but some of the "sins" of the old store followed them to the new location:
- Guarantee policy doesn't cover expensive or delicate fish
- Lot's of fish not labeled or not labeled correctly
- Prices are OK - no great deals to be found
- Uninformed staff - any question requires asking the owner...who's not the friendliest guy in the world

I haven't bought much from the new store but I hope the "price at the register is different than what the tank says" game stayed at the old store.

All in all, lots of potential...not much execution

This is the largest store in CA. I've found everything I needed in this place. One stop shopping. I am very happy with their service and prices. No problem with their return policy.

It is huge. The largest fish store I have ever been to. Excellent selection of SW fish and corals. The FW fish selection is impressive. They carry all sizes of Oceanic and All Glass tanks. Highly recommeded to visit, you won't be disappointed !

Thanks for the tip! We've updated their address. -Ed.

Helpful staff, carries lots of misc. products that other stores in the area don't have. Fish/animals can be returned for store credit.

The owner says there's warranty on their fish but dont count on it the owner is a little rude asian guy. Price to expensive better off going to bay area for best price and better fish..
