After the first few encounters with Brian the owner, my impression of him was favorable. But after many more visits and dealing with him on a regular basis, his true colors came out and he reminded me of a dishonest used car salesman. He ensured me that I could return some supposedly "reef safe" fishes I had purchased if any problems were to occur, but after bringing them back due to the attacks on my corals he changed his tune. I would call him sometimes beforehand to know if his store would have a particular fish or coral in stock, without even checking he would lie and say they have it. This is going to sound hilarious, but he told me on one occasion that someone stole the fish I was asking about. I sure hope the dude's pocket didn't get too wet. Check out Tongs fish store on Magnolia and Warner in Fountain Valley, they're pricey too but they have a much bigger selection on fish, corals and equipment.

The owner of this store is one rude asshole. He needs to go learn some manners and work in a cave where he doesn't deal with the public. I merely asked if there was a guarantee on a fish I wanted to buy but wasn't moving in the tank. His reply was sarcastic and rude and he told me I shouldn't buy anything. All he had to tell me was no guarantee. What an Ass. His employee however was very nice and helpful and told me that fish had been in the store for a month and that it was healthy. I decided to buy the fish because it was a large size I wanted and couldn't find elsewhere and I asked the employee to get it for me. The fish is doing great in my tank but I'll never go back there again. I hope the store goes "belly up".

rude, rude, rude. I should have listen to some friends and the reviews. I was asking the owner about various filters and such and as we walked down the isles he was just pulling equipment off the shelf and trying to hand it to me....He should go back to selling cars, because that is all he is good for. Over rated, Over priced, customer service is poor.

Nice selection and prices. Some of the rare items are pricy, but I only find them here. I just read "RCC" review. Hey man, a bit of adivce. If you think a few dollars is a lot, you're new to saltwater fish. You always get what you pay for. Been in the hobby for 20 years. These guys are worth it.

Nothing against these people, but I must say that dealing with this store was by far the worst experience I have had with a fish store since starting the hobby five years ago. While the fish store is clean and well stocked and the staff do seem to be knowledgable, you come to find that once you really start doing research on the internet and various reading materials that most of the time they are just trying to make a buck (a lot of them). This place is so over priced, I.E $20.00 dollars for garlic, when you can go to most any other store in orange county and get for $10.00 to $12.00. As well as a thermometer for $50.00 when i have seen them for $30.00 elsewhere. And it is not just the dry goods either, there coral and invert prices will make you sick to your stomach if you have done some shopping at other establishments, for instance the clams they have there are litterally 1" and priced at no less than $50.00. I purchased a teardrop Maxima at Eye Candy Aquariums on Beach Blvd. for only $30.00 and it was five times larger than the ones at pacific reef. And the final straw was when I decided to not listen to my gut and buy an aquarium from them, and what happened was the truck broke down during delivery, but i was not told this until i drove down there in rush hour traffic to pick it up only to have him tell me when i got there that it was not even there. He had my phone number and did not even call me to save me the trip. And on top of all this the next buisness day I have to call him and ask if the aquarium arrived, it had but what he had ordered was wrong. So i had to drive to the wearhouse to pick it up, he did not even offer to make it right by going to the wearhouse himself, all he cared about was that he got his money and did not want to have anything to do with me after. Bottom line save yourself and your wallet some pain and go to another fish store, there are plenty of good ones around.

This place was great! the staff and owner were very knowledgable and helpful. Plus very clean and wide selection of salt and fresh water fish. prices vary high and low but definetly worth it.

With so many great fishstores in the area, I have no idea why anyone would go here. Fish and supplies are unbelievably overpriced, the selection is horrible, and the owner and staff are just plain rude. I should have listed to the other bad reviews of this place and went somewhere else.
