 Althought the store is small, Doug is the best fish seller I know and is willing to order anything. He also is the most knowledgable which is really nice since I hate dealing with fish sellers that don't know anything. The only thing to be careful of is Doug has pretty bad BO.  Doug is a gem, I agree with everything Emily said. Limited number of tanks, but an amazing selection for what he has to work with. Good place to find the odd unusual fish, often has a nice selection of rainbows and interesting large loaches at good prices. If Doug had a bigger store to work with, it would rate 5 fish for sure. Surprisingly, Ace Hardware has a pet section including a wall of aquariums. While the selection is very limited, the gentleman who does the ordering (I believe his name is Doug) is very knowlegable and honestly cares for the well-being of the fish being sold. He only carries fish that can adapt and thrive in local tap water which has a high pH as well as high hardness. He informs customers about cycling and necessary aquarium size for the full grown size of their fish. Many of the african cichlids, as well as a few of the other fish, come from local breeders and are therefore more likely to thrive in Davis water.
